No-screw-no-glue / oversized

The first piece is a tall library, designed with the distinctive joints characteristic of the no-screw-no-glue collection. The upper part showcases open shelves, while the lower part is closed by doors and panels, also crafted without the use of any glue.

Dealing with its impressive height presented a challenge that Atelier Anna Arpa approached with enthusiasm and thorough precision. The outcome is a minimalistic 266 cm tall library, entirely assembled with dry joints and a minimal number of click-clack fixtures.

The legs’ profile line deviates slightly from the vertical to ensure stability and prevent joint slackening caused by subtle wood shrinkage over the years, given the absence of hardware fittings or glues.

The vibrant Multi-Wood© locking blocks, shaped like wedges, securely lock the overall joint, preventing any possibility of loosening. This piece is crafted from bleached solid maple wood, selected for its hardness characteristics.

The second item is a cabinet standing at a height of 120 cm, featuring a minimalistic aesthetic and primarily crafted from bleached maple to establish a visual dialogue with the library. In this piece, the legs are crafted entirely from Multi-Wood©, aligning seamlessly with the front surface of the two doors.

The aim is for creations to evoke in the viewer a “lucid wonder.” The goal is to alter the traditional approach associated with formal conventions, utilizing classic materials. To achieve this, effort in every reasoning process moves towards simplification, eliminating what is unnecessary so that the essential may speak. An object is considered complete not when nothing more can be added, but when nothing more can be taken away.
