S/m-w desk

This collection seeks to offer a contemporary perspective on the traditional woodworking technique known as inlay.

The top of the s/m-w desk consists entirely of Multi-Wood©, displaying a pattern made up of approximately 15,000 wooden fragments from 10 different timber essences. The herringbone geometrical design transitions into a vertical motif on its four-centimeter-tall sides, revealing the inherent intricacies of the crafting composition.

While reminiscent of traditional marquetry at first glance, it differs by featuring solid wood fragments with a strong and authentic presence.

The legs feature a triangular cross-section, improving stability. Each leg comprises two different wood essences, creating a contrasting yet cohesive woodgrain pattern.

Handcrafted entirely by Italian artisans, the s/m-w desk is the outcome of in-depth research aimed at providing a timeless material with a fresh and original expression, shedding the conventional crafting patina.
