The venue, known as “12 Apostoli,” boasts a deep historical heritage dating back to the 18th century, offering an extraordinary setting for an enchanting dining experience.

The project’s concept revolves around bridging the past and present. Casa Perbellini represents the contemporary era with its vibrant and energetic atmosphere, which reaches its highest expression in the Chef’s Table room. Whilst the “12 Apostoli” retains the allure of historic areas with its frescoed vaults, necessitating meticulous and delicate design decisions.

The journey begins in the welcoming foyer, evoking a “home” (“Casa”) atmosphere with an accurate selection of domestic elements, like a library, a carpet and a sofa, and warm colored woods. The tones and patterns of the carpet, tailored-made specifically for this project, harmoniously integrate with the arrangement of the existing wall paintings.

A towering floor-to-ceiling library serves as a partition between the foyer and the first room, known as the “Sala del Volto,” creating a striking scenic backdrop that mirrors the design aesthetics of the foyer. This room maintains the original restaurant’s charm with minimal, targeted interventions that respect the historical paintings on the walls. It elegantly bridges the past and present, blending tradition with contemporary style.

The centerpiece of the project is the Chef’s Table room, located in the former kitchen space. Here, formal items are seamlessly integrated, such as the monumental extraction hood, now transformed into a scenic design element. The kitchen, arranged in an L-shape, encompasses five custom-made tables accommodating 12 guests. The Chef Experience unfolds in the heart of the restaurant, providing an immersive encounter that engages all senses.

Color plays a pivotal role in creating a communal and immersive experience. The Chef’s Table embodies flexibility, fluidity, and intimacy. Distinctive visual delineation is achieved through differently colored ceramic tiles on the floor, while dramatic lighting within the historic hood enhances the space’s uniqueness.
